General Questions about IWITTS

Are you a membership organization?

We are not a membership organization. Our expertise is assisting institutions, not individuals, to recruit and retain women in technology and law enforcement fields.

I'm a woman seeking a career in technology -- can you help me?

IWITTS does not provide direct services to women. Our work focuses on the schools and institutions that help women pursue careers in technology and the trades. We recommend you review this list of career organizations to see if there is one for women in your chosen occupation.

Where can I find statistics about women in technology?

A good source for information about women in technology is the US Department of Labor, Women's Bureau, Statistics section.

Where can I find women in technology careers willing to speak to my students or colleagues?

If you are looking for women in technology to speak at an event, you could try our list of career organizations to see if they can assist you.

How can IWITTS help me recruit and retain women in policing?

Our Law Enforcement section includes numerous resources that offer information regarding best practice recruitment and retention strategies. You'll find articles, guides, and other materials developed by experts in the field, such as IWITTS Executive Director Donna Milgram.

Does IWITTS hold workshops for law enforcement on recruiting and retaining women?

IWITTS does not currently hold national police trainings. However, if your department is interested, IWITTS can conduct a workshop in your city or state. Please Contact Us if you are interested in learning more about our on-site trainings.

What is the cancellation policy?

  • 30 days or more before the workshop: Cancellations received in writing no later than thirty (30) days prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund of conference fees.
  • 14 to 29 days: Cancellations received in writing no later than 14 to 29 days prior to the start of the workshop will receive a refund of 50% of the workshop fee, and materials for the workshop will be shipped to the company. A 50% cancellation fee will be deducted from all refunds issued less than 30 days but more than thirteen days prior to the start of the workshop.
  • 13 days or less: No refund is issued if cancellations are received thirteen days or less prior to the start of the workshop. Materials for the workshop will be shipped to the company.

Please fax written cancellations to 510-749-0500 and include IWITTS' invoice number.

What if IWITTS cancels the workshop?

If for any reason, we have to cancel a workshop, we are not responsible for covering airfare, hotel, or other costs incurred by registrants. Please check with us to ensure the workshop still has space available or has not been cancelled before making non-refundable travel arrangements.

If I cannot attend, can a colleague take my place?

Should you be unable to attend the workshop, substitutions may be made up to the day of the workshop. Please Contact Us to alert us to the substitution.

Are IWITTS products available for preview?

You can preview many products, such as our career videos and posters, right on the product page. Click on the tab titled "Video Clips" or "View Posters", etc.

ORDERING

Can I use a Purchase Order?

Yes. On each product page you will see an option to "Print Order Form". You can type the information directly into the form or you can print it out and complete it. Fax it with your purchase order to 510-749-0500.

Are there bulk discounts?

If you would like to order large quantities of any given product, please Contact Us. We'd be happy to discuss how we can provide you with a bulk discount.

I reside outside the United States -- may I order IWITTS products?

Currently, our products are guaranteed available only to United States customers. We will do our best to make our products available to customers in other countries, but we can't ensure it.

Customers outside the US interested in making a purchase, please Contact Us. Be sure to include:

  • Your name
  • Your country
  • The products you wish to purchase
  • The requested delivery date
  • A proposed method of payment

We will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible and let you know if we are able to process your order. Please note that you will be responsible for import tax and UPS brokerage fees on your UPS Standard Service shipments.

Please Note:
  • California residents if you're ordering online, our system will automatically calculate a 9.75% sales tax for you. If you're mailing or faxing in your order and your order will be shipped to a California address, please add your appropriate local sales tax.
  • There is no shipping charge or sales tax for downloadable items.

How long will it take to receive my order?

All of our orders are fulfilled and shipped within 5 days of payment. Most products are shipped UPS ground, which takes up to five business days depending on your location. Thus, you can expect to receive your publications within two weeks.

Please Note: Role Model Videos: 35 Career Options for Women (both the full-set and individual videos) may take up to 3 weeks for delivery.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

If you need your products more quickly, Contact Us to arrange to expedite shipping at an additional cost.

My order hasn't arrived yet -- what should I do?

We have found that most missing shipments are due to a shipping department signing for an order but not transferring the package to the intended recipient. So before contacting us, we suggest you check with your shipping and receiving department.

Of course, if that is not the case, we'll be happy to help. Just Contact Us with the following information:

  • Invoice Number
  • Date of Order
  • Name of Company/Organization as it appears on the Invoice
  • Contact Name
  • Phone Number

RETURNS

What is your return policy?

We will gladly accept returns of merchandise if shipped back within 7 calendar days of receipt. 

Returned merchandise should be in new condition and returned with all original material.

Exception: The following products cannot be returned -- Role Model Videos: 35 Career Options for Women (both the full-set and the individual videos.)

Which IWITTS products are downloadable?

Can I purchase the hard copy version instead?

Hard copy versions of these products are not for sale.

How do I download products after purchase?

As soon as your order is received -- whether you purchased the product online or using the print form -- you will receive an email with a link to a webpage which contains instructions. Click on the link in the email and follow the download instructions on the web page.

I did not receive the e-mail with the Download Link -- what should I do?

Download instructions are sent to the e-mail address that was provided during purchase. If someone other than yourself completed the order (i.e., someone in your purchasing department) and provided their own email address, not yours, please ask that person to forward you the Download Instructions email.

If it was your email that was included on the order form and you did not receive an email with download instructions, please Contact Us.
